CHILDREN’S DIRECTOR 

Ages – 0-6th Grade

The Children’s Director will oversee our BVC Nursery and Children’s ministry (Ages 0-6th Grade).   

Vision:  To create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for children to learn and grow in  relationship with God. 

Job Title: Children’s Director – P/T 

Oversight: 0 – 6th Grade, teen helpers

Reports to: Lead Pastor 

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitate biblical learning, fun activities & worship for children on Sundays. 
  • Time commitment on Sundays, 9:30am-12noon. 
  • Facilitate quarterly outreaches/events to support the ministry, connect families and foster ongoing inviting opportunities for new families. 
  • Identifying, Recruiting, Training, Deploying and Monitoring, keeping the ministries staffed and caring for volunteer teams in children’s ministry & Nursery. 
  • Follow and implement all policies, rules and procedures of the ministry.
  • Keep to set budgets.
  • Communicating with parents and providing parental support.
  • Working with part-time specialists focused on caring for children with special needs. 
  • Be part of and participate in our community – listen to our weekly sermons, attend church, attend events, attend trainings, be part of a small group. 
  • Communication – Keep up with notices, emails, texts, newsletters, etc. Respond timely when asked. Attend weekly at staff meetings.
  • Connect with and engage in calls/annual trainings with Vineyard’s Regional Children’s Support Group.
  • Attend one regional or national conference per year.

BVC YOUTH LEADER

Ages – 7th-12th Grade

Vision:  Seeking a person with a heart and passion for tweens/teens.

To connect & empower tweens and teens, (7th – 12 Grade) teaching them word of God, equipping them to be world changers, through a variety of experiences and opportunities. To give them time and space to connect, grow and to help them discover who they are and to use their gifts to serve others! 

Job description: 

  • Commit to hosting weekly youth gatherings that include biblical teachings, worship, prayer & fun activities. Sept to June (9 months – school year) Summers look different. 
  • Connect in the Vineyard East Community for Youth.
  • Attend Youth Trainings & Events 
  • Attend Youth Retreats – Annual
  • Attend week long training with select teens for future Vineyard Youth Leaders – Project Timothy (Annual) 
  • Host Fun and/or Educational Inviting Events as an ongoing means to support and grow the ministry – Quarterly
  • Attend or host regular outreaches & serving events.  
  • Commit to attend weekly church service and be part of the community.  
  •  Identify/recruit/train/deploy/monitor leaders
  • Follow guidelines of the ministry and report to Lead Pastor for regular communication and training. Attend weekly staff meetings.
